The Bayanihan Team releases the latest version of the Bayanihan Desktop.  Codenamed "Kalumbata", the Bayanihan 5 Desktop features a new graphical installer, which is more user-friendly and installs much faster than the Bayanihan Linux 4.  Kalumbata is bundled with applications that would be enough for an everyday-use desktop, which includes office productivity suite, communication and internet tools, multimedia players, and many more.  All these valuable applications comes in a single CD distribution, which is still easier and faster to download than multiple CD or DVD distributions.  And if these applications are not enough, a large collection of software packages is available and can be installed from our repository.  Aside from the bundled applications, this version comes with more updated drivers to support a wider range of computer devices and peripherals, including most recent ones.  This version also has a plug-and-surf capability, adding support for popular 3G wireless devices.

In line with this, a new forum has been deployed specifically for this and the succeeding versions of the Bayanihan distributions.  Users may still view the old forum but the topics are now locked.
